Difference between Ayurveda and Allopathy

Ayurveda is the oldest science for treating any kind of disease with the help of herbs and shrubs. It is a purely natural science-based medicine.

The medicines are extracted from plants and naturally occurring elements. On the other hand, allopathy uses different kinds of artificial chemicals to cure any disease sometimes these chemical medicines react badly inside the human body, and in most cases people notice that while treating one disease, automatically they suffer from other diseases this is the main difference.

Another difference is that allopathy works on binders and receptors, meaning it instantly disconnects the brain from the cause of the pain. It is the best property of allopathy medicines.

In emergencies, it will act as a life-saving drug.

Ayurveda works on the principles of understanding and maintaining the coordination and balance between soul, mind, and body.

According to ancient Indian Ayurveda diseases are caused by an imbalance of the vata (space and air) governs movement, kapha (earth and water) manages assimilation and the last one is pitta (fire and water ) regulates metabolism in the body.

Historical Background

The ayurveda belongs to the Hindu religion. The ayurveda originated from the land of India which is also called bharata. Bharat is the richest country in terms of culture and other aspects. The oldest book of the world belongs to the ayurveda. This is the coolest fact of the ayurveda. It means the people of Bharat that is India were aware of this knowledge.

Dhanvantri is known as the god of Ayurveda and when they appear on the earth, in his hand a pot of Amrit which is spread on the earth, and then from this Amrit many medicinal plants are grown on the earth and all the medicines of the ayurveda is based on these plants.

We read many facts about the ayurveda here. I share one of them – do you know who is the first surgeon in the world or who performed the first surgery in the world?

So I was amazed that an Indian monk was the first surgeon in the world and he performed the world’s first surgery between 1000 and 800 BC, and his name was Sushruta. And also known as the father of plastic surgery.

He teaches surgery to his students in his gurukul (a hostel where students study). Wow, it’s amazing when the whole world is fighting for food at that time Indian monks are developing their nation.

On the other hand, when we search about the history of allopathy we find that the term allopathy was coined by Samuel Hahneman in 1810.

We can say that allopathy was discovered in the early 19th century with the help of different kinds of artificial and naturally occurring chemicals used on the human body for treating diseases.

Diagnostic method

We are confused between Ayurveda and allopathic in terms of diagnosis.

Ayurveda has an advantage rather than allopathy because Ayurveda focuses on the cause of the disease not on suppressing the disease on the other side allopathy focuses on suppressing the disease and sometimes it succeeds care for the disease but it causes another disease like if we take too much medication it is a high probability that our kidney suffers badly or it has the highest probability of occurrence of kidney failure.

An allopathic physician suggests many kinds of tests for analyzing what kind of problem is inside the body.

While in Ayurveda see only the dosha level and check the imbalances to provide an exact result.

According to Indian scripture, Ayurveda is considered to be one of the oldest forms of treatment. In this method mind, body, and soul are interconnected. The aim of Ayurveda improve overall health not only pain relief, it is a boon for humanity.

The medication and treatment regimen implemented to cure illnesses is not based on any scientific research or advanced modern technology. However, it is extracted from natural components, which surely alleviates the chance of any negative side effects on the body

Side effects of allopathy and ayurvedic treatments

Now we have discussed the difference between the side effects of both one by one.

Side effects of allopathic treatments

The allopathy treatment follows chemical-based medicine sometimes our body responds negatively toward the allopathic medications

There are many kinds of side effects depending on the disease and type of medicine he takes. The problem comes when the side effects are bigger than the cure, like in the COVID-19 pandemic the person who gets infected with the COVID-19 virus has a high probability that after the treatment he will suffer from heart attack or other cardiovascular disease.

Here are some of the side effects.

  • Allergy
  • Dry mouth
  • Insomnia
  • Headache
  • Skin rashes
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Stomach issues like diarrhoea or constipation

Side effects of Ayurvedic treatment

In this kind of treatment, doctors use less amount of chemicals or other kinds of artificial agents for the treatment of disease. Mainly the use of herbs and shrubs or naturally occurring substances so it makes a minimum chance of side effects but here is a shloka by the Indian god of Ayurveda that is (अति सर्वत्र वर्जयेत्) ati sarvatra varjayet it means we don’t consume anything too much whether it is medicine lets take an example water is life and if we don’t drink an adequate amount of water we get ill. Still, if we drink the high amount of water it is a high probability we suffer from hyponatremia or a low sodium level in the blood.

Here are a few side effects of Ayurveda.

  • Loose motion

So we can conclude that ayurveda and yoga are gaining popularity in the modern era, in this decade everyone knows about the ayurveda and yoga benefits and the whole world is taking benefits from these two ancient Indian methods.
